A SET OF TEN GEORGE IV SILVER GILT PLATES, maker Thomas Burwash, London 1821, of plain dished circular form with central vacant chased and repousse foliate rococo panel, the rim chased and repousse with masks and exotic birds amidst scrolling acanthus enclosed by cast gadrooning, 9 1/2" diameter, 186ozs 18dwts total (Est. plus 18% premium inc. VAT) (Illustrated) NB This set of plates was withdrawn from the 14th June 2017 auction on instructions from the Antique Plate Committee. The Committee have examined them and are of "the opinion that they are hallmarked in accordance with the Hallmarking Act 1973". They are sold together with the letter confirming this from the Committee.
