A CAROLEAN OAK SETTLE, third quarter 17th century, the back with three over four panels beneath a top rail (lacking its scrolled finials) carved with trailing foliage and initialled and dated "J(?) H 1688 E H", scrolled ears, scrolled arms on baluster turned supports, boarded seat, three baluster turned and block legs joined by moulded rails and square section stretchers, 73 3/4" w x 23 1/2" d x 41 1/2" h
