A BRONZE SEA GALLANTRY MEDAL with ribbon in case, presented to AB William Wylde in 1911, and a cabinet photograph of Louise, Princess Royal, the Duke of Fife and their daughters Maud and Alexandra (2) On December 13th 1911, the P & O Steamship "Delhi" ran aground in heavy fog off the Coast of Morocco. Amongst the passengers were the Duke of Fife, Louise Princess Royal, (the King's sister), and their two daughters, who were all in one of the rescue boats which was swamped. Princess Alexandra was washed overboard but was rescued and all were brought to safety. AB Wylde was one of the seamen from H.M.S. Duke of Edinburgh involved in the rescue and he was awarded the gallantry medal for his efforts
