A DRESDEN PORCELAIN FIGURE GROUP, late 19th century, modelled after a Meissen original by J. Kandler and allegorical of Winter, modelled as a young boy wearing a fur hat and trimmed puce coat, holding an axe and seated on a faggot laden sledge, his female companion wearing a pale pink blouse and striped skirt warming her hands over a brazier on a naturalistically moulded oval base with pink and turquoise highlighted stiff leaf border, JR mark in underglaze blue (see Godden's "Guide to European Porcelain", pp 110-113), 5 3/4" high (Illustrated)
