A VIOLIN, SCHOOL OF VUILLAUME, the two piece sycamore back with double purfling and scroll design top and bottom, pine table, back 14 1/2", overall length 23 5/8", together with two Dodd bows, both with ebony frogs and mother of pearl eyes, one with silvered wire grip, both impressed "DODD", 29" long, and vellum provenance dated 1913, with sepia photographs of the violin by John Ellis who purchased it in 1879 from Prof. John Booth of Burnley and played by Mr Compton in the Halle orchestra, with a selection of ephemera, in a red velvet lined black coffin case (Illustrated) (Est. plus 21% premium inc.
